Excerpt: White collar jobs hiring is stalling out across much of the US, with industries such as finance, technology, media, and professional services such as law and accounting all suffering despite the national unemployment rate hovering near historic lows…

“Even though the labor market looks strong, there’s a lack of job security, especially in tech,” said Jack Benedict, 25, who learned that he and 42 other YouTube Music employees had been laid off in February. “All these massive companies are trying to downsize or replace people with AI,” he continued, adding that he worries college degrees are “not enough when companies are asking for 10 years of experience.”

“Many higher-income workers accepted slower wage growth as a trade-off for remote work flexibility,” wrote Davis. “These dynamics have all contributed to the faster rise in wages for lower-income workers.”

And some of the reactions–

Steeley: If you can work remote from your home, your replacement can work remote from Bangladesh for 1/4 of your pay.

JZ: We are on the precipice of an economic collapse.. Be prepared..

Justin: The west was on the precipice two years ago. It may not look like it yet, but we’re well into one already.

And not just economic, but social/cultural, political, and civilizational as well.

Ruby: This job market is fierce right now, I thought the demand for my MBA in Antigenocidal Equity-driven Redistribution of Bugs from USC was in high demand. If it wasn’t for Gerald Ford I’d be employed.

Major: They probably don’t even have real life skills or know how to use a sawzall to cut off a catalytic converter.

Roaming: They don’t have a clue what a catalytic converter is.  Most of them have to use full service to fill the tank up.

White: In the 80s you could take any low level job work 40 hours and still survive today you can’t even pay your car insurance and put gas in your car…

I work for a living I get dirty and sweat in the summer. I doubt these spoiled brats have never broken a sweat in their lives.
